ØRKENFORTET HOTEL
Copenhagen, Denmark, 2018

The hotel keeps the function and minimalism alive in the modernistic tradition. I designed a new window, and raised the ceiling to show the beautiful concrete structure and emphasing the very idea of Modernismn, which is less is more. Being true and transparent with the building’s structure is key. The problem with a lot of the modernistic buildings today is that they were build with very little knowledge of the new materials. Therefore a lot of these buildings need an energyimprovement to keep them sustainable and the heritage of Modernism alive.
